Colleen Kesterson has been designing costumes for theatrical productions, corporate events and advertising campaigns for over a decade. She grew up in Seattle, WA where, still in high school, she designed several productions which were featured in the Seattle Fringe Festival. She then moved to New York to attend the Conservatory of Theatre Arts & Film Professional Program in Entertainment Design and Technology at SUNY Purchase. She graduated cum laude, with a degree in Costume Design.
Ever since, Colleen has been designing for New York City based theatrical companies, regional theater companies and summer stock all over the east coast. She has been lead designer on many well-received productions, while assisting on high profile productions, including the Tony nominated Cyrano de Bergerac and Rock of Ages on Brodway, and the Lortel Award winning Voysey Inheritance. Colleen has also designed and constructed costumes for a number of high-profile corporate events and private parties, and designed one of a kind costumes for advertising agencies.
Colleen has wide ranging experience and can design any type of show or event, from modern dress, to surreal, using her exacting eye for detail and research to design flawless period costumes, a giant sock puppet, or slacks for stilt walkers. Her attention to fine detail and ability to work within budgetary constraints has drawn rave reviews from her many clients.
